The Theater, The Theater...
I hadn't been to New York for a bit, and the city was calling me, so I did a little research to see what happenings I could get myself into on my day trip to The Big Apple. What came next was just...amazing.
“The blessing is that I don't have any expectations when it comes to these kinds of moments. I show up, pay attention, lead with kindness and let the awesomeness happen! - MRM x LBDSAW
During my research, I found out that two movie premieres were happening on the same day, and I figured that if I just showed up in the city, did my due diligence to be in the number to attend and allow the serendipitous moments to unfold, I'd leave the city with new & unexpected -- sometimes unbelievable, experiences. The blessing is that I don't have any expectations when it comes to these kinds of moments. I show up, pay attention, lead with kindness and let the awesomeness happen!
In less than 24 hours, I experienced nostalgia at New York Penn Station and Macy's Herald Square, and I got my steps in as I walked the blocks of New York to EACH destination. I was wonderfully surprised by the renovations at my go-to stop at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, saw celebs galore at NBC Studios like ummm, Kevin Hart, James McAvoy, Mel B, Al Roker... I saw THE TREE at Rockefeller Center with all of the folks skating at The Rink and found the movie premiere destination of Lift (Kevin Hart, F. Gary Gray...) on my way to check out the pink carpet of the premiere of Mean Girls (Tina Fey...). I rounded the evening out with a slice of pizza and walk through the city once more before I headed back to Charm City.
There is so much more to share from this and other adventurous days that must be shared from this LBDSAW journey. I'm thinking a documentary, a blooper reel or something! Ha! In the meantime, check out all of the NYC blog posts here on the site and our IG page @lbdsaladsandwine for more of each story. Stay tuned, Good Folks! Let's Spark More Joy!
